About

Hello! I'm Michelle and I am a postgraduate researcher in the United States. I have worked in higher education administration and I have recently completed my Master of Art in English Multicultural Literature remotely from Heritage University in Toppenish, Washington! My focus has evolved to rotate around poetry and literature by women writers connected by identity throughout time. I am particularly interested in lesbian literary studies with an emphasis on the expat-modernist movement. I recently ended my self-imposed studies break and am currently seeking PhD programs anywhere in the US!

I have experience in libraries, higher education administration, research, community management, and more. Right now I work at a non-profit where I organize internships for students in social work and therapy. I advise and organize these students throughout the process of their education and help break down barriers for those who are new to the field of education and academia.

I've also spoken at conferences, have upcoming published chapters in collections, and have other works under publication consideration.

I am always happy to discuss my research topics, research opportunities, job opportunities, and similar! I am currently working on my PhD application packet for the next application cycle.

My most recently published essay can be found in Black Witches and Queer Ghosts and is available now!

Or you can check out my chapter about Mothman, conspiracy, and folkloric grief processing inThe Lizard People Don't Want You to Read This here.

Looking for other fun projects I've worked on? I contributed to the Japanese entries for Tiny Bookshop in 2025!

Upcoming: I have an essay on modern popular music as a means of lesbian feminist expression coming soon, you can pre-order here!

Stay tuned as I currently have many upcoming chapters in various stages of editing and drafting that will be published within the next year!
